Our Review of the Hip Carrier
The Kid Carry Hip Carrier enables you to carry a child up to 45 lbs on your hip comfortably. The design of the Kid Carry assists your natural posture by evenly distributing your baby's weight across your hips and shoulder. The convenient Kid Carry allows you to pick up and put down your child with ease, carrying him or her more comfortably than on your own hip.
Comfort & Convenience Features: The Kid Carry is patented for its innovative design features, such as the specially engineered plastic the forms the child seat on your hip. Just pick your child up and set him on your hip as you normally would, and the Kid Carry takes care of the rest.
The entire Kid Carry hip carrier weighs less than 2 lbs, and works over either of your hips. It's simple to switch sides with the Kid Carry, allowing you keep your working arm free and even out the load on longer walks. There's also an outer storage pocket and clips for your keys, phone, and other necessities.
Safety: The Kid Carry has no harness or straps that secure your child. You carry him or her on your hip as you normally would, with the Kid Carry distributing the weight and reducing strain on your back and hips.
To sit in the Kid Carry your child must be able to sit upright without assistance, which is typically around 6 months or more
Warranty: The Kid Carry is Made in America by a New Jersey based company and comes with a Money Back Guarantee. It claims to "last as long as you have kids to carry."
Comparison: Convenience is key with the Kid Carry, but you can't use it without keeping one arm on your child at all times. Other hip carriers at ChildCarriers.com offer a similar feel to the Kid Carry but don't allow you to pick up or put down your child as easily.

Wonderful for Special Needs Toddlers!

We are the parents of fourteen chidren -- ten of these adopted, and most have some type of special need. Our youngest is almost three, and was born with significant brain damage and has cerebral palsy. She is the light of our lives, but can't walk and is difficult to carry since she has trouble holding herself up at all - pretty tough on the lower back. She has gotten too big to fit into any kind of a carrier, and the stiffness in her arms and legs, due to her CP, always made getting her into a carrier a challenge, anyway - especially when I'm out alone with her. Although she now has a wheelchair, there are times when she still needs to be carried - when she doesn't feel well, on a family hike in the park, etc. We had almost given up finding something that would work for her when we discovered this one. When asked for Christmas gift ideas for us, we gave this suggestion and received it for Christmas. It is absolutely perfect. It's easy to slip on, and I can easily swing my little one up over the carrier - like a saddle. She loves it and gets so excited when she sees me put it on. It's amazing how much it has helped my lower back pain when carrying her, although my trapezius under the strap does begin to ache a bit if I carry her for a long time. The only additional thing that might be nice for her particular needs would be one more strap of some kind that would go around her waist to free my hands up a little more. It's essential that I keep at least one arm around her at all times, but it hasn't been a real problem for us. We love it! Thank you, thank you to whoever designed this!
