Baby Carrier: Three-Toed Sloth (Bradypus variegatus)
|
Sloths spend most of their lives upside down, hanging from branches – they even give birth with their bellies up. Baby sloths are the size of your thumb when they are born. They are kept safe cradled against their mother’s chest, until they are old enough to care for themselves – usually after about 9 months of constant contact. |
