Baby Carrier: Texas Dwarf Scorpion (Vaelovis spinigerus)

Scorpions are born live (the eggs are kept inside the mother until they have hatched).

The first thing that baby scorpions do is climb onto their mother’s back.

There they are kept safe until after their first molt.

After that, they are too large to fit anymore and set off on their own.
