Baby Carrier: Lion

Baby Carrier: Lion (Panthera Leo)

Although lion mothers do not carry their young on their backs, they are fiercely protective of their young - especially during their vulnerable first 8 weeks.

To transport her cubs to a safer location, a lioness will pick them up in heir teeth and move them one at a time.

Although it may appear that the cubs are being eaten, they are of course not harmed.
