Baby Carrier:
Flying Fox Fruit Bat
(Pteropus pumilus)

For the first few weeks after birth, baby flying fox bats are carried by their mother – clinging to her chest as she flies.

They learn to hang from branches on their own during this time, but are still carried to feeding sites by their mother.

After 11 weeks, the babies learn to fly on their own.
