Just what I wanted

I like to take my 7 1/2 month old son riding on my ATV with me, I have been doing so since he was 2 weeks old, he loves it! Unfortunately as he has gotten older strapping his car seat onto the rack became to unsafe, I needed something that could support him and hold him steady. This does just the trick! The Rumba Superlight is light enough so my balance is not thrown off yet holds him firm enough that he doesn't bounce at all! My sons safety is my number one concern, and with this product I do not have to worry.

Excellent carrier

I recently learned that our 14 month son will actually remain calm and quiet when he's in a back carrier, so we tried a bunch of them to try to find the prefect one. I finally narrowed it down to the Kelty, the REI Pathfinder, and this one. Of the three, this one is the easiest to lug around, the lightest, and has the most storage space (I can easily put my own jacket, a change of clothes for my son, diapers, wipes, and a camera in there). The nice thing is that the storage is below the seat so even if you pack it, it doesn't stick out. I ended up keeping this one and the Kelty but find myself using this one a lot more. There are three bad points to an otherwise prefect carrier: 1) it's not nearly as sturdy and well-built as the Kelty (but it's a whole lot more compact and lighter), 2) the kickstand doesn't retract, so when in stores or other tight spaces, you have to be careful not to knock things over, 3) it's not as easy to load a child into it as the Kelty, but easier than the REI brand.

Excellent choice for travel

We used this carrier for our 16 month old on a recent trip to Europe. He loved it, and we loved the fact that it is very light, easy to transport, and easy to use. Our son found it comfortable enough to doze in, and it was compact enough to fit through some pretty tight spaces. The only negatives are the foot stirrups (useless, and not needed) and the fact that the kickstand doesn't open wide enough to be stable if there is a squirmy child strapped in. Nevertheless, we'd definitely give this the old "two thumbs up" for anyone who is intending to travel.

Great carrier

This is the only backpack carrier we have ever used with out 13 month old son and we have been very pleased with it. It has proved suitable for walks around the city and around the park. It is lightweight and comfortable to wear. For storage, either in our apartment or out in restaurants it can be flattened and takes up little space. We have used it in light rain and the rain cover was satisfactory. More important than anything else is that our son loves riding in it!

Best Child Carrier We've Found

We have been through a number of child carriers, always looking for a better one. Well, I am pretty sure we have finally found the best one and can stop looking! The Sherpani Superlight is so comfortable (for me and my husband)and also our 14 month-old. She even has taken several long naps in it while riding and was quite content the rest of the time to look around. We have used the Superlight for everything from walking around festivals to long day hikes in the Grand Tetons. It distributes the weight wonderfully (does not pull on your shoulders like other carriers we've used) and has so many adjustable straps to fit the wearer perfectly. We like how the child is very close to you (unlike the Keltys we've had where the child seems to be sticking way out from you). We did also buy one to use with our 3 year old (whose weight is within the requirement) but found that, even with the straps as loose as they would go, she was too tall for the straps to fit her comfortably. That would be the only minor change that I wish could be made so we could use it for her as well. We love the Sherpani Superlight!

Great Light Weight Carr

If you're looking for a carrier in this price range, you'll definitely be getting your money's worth with this one. From the extensive research I've done, this look like the lightest framed carrier out there. Not only do these carriers come in a variety of colors, it's very stylish compared to the competition -especially for those who just need the carrier for every day activities (walking or grocery shopping) and don't want to look like they're going to climb a mountain anytime soon. But the carrier is made tough (cordura nylon) so it can take a pretty good beating. What's great about this carrier is that it is very comfortable for both the child and parent, especially with all the texta padding in the shoulders, waist area, and the child compartment. There are only a few minor negative things to note about the carrier. It is a bit tricky putting the child into the main compartment, so it takes a few tries to get it down without the baby getting fussy during the "loading process". One thing to note about safety is that the kickstand does not go as far back as other carriers, so it is really important to stabilize the carrier during the load/unloading process or it can potentially fall over. The upside to this is that you don't have to worry about opening or closing the kickstand like the others. It stays open just wide enough without having to knock anything or anybody over. Another thing is that the instructions have no diagrams to explain what each strap is used for, so we had to figure it out on our own how to make the proper adjustments. The Superlight was just released this past summer, so it is very new to the market. Overall, I highly recommend this carrier.
