Comments from The Staff:
Hi there. Thank you for your feedback. It not only helps us, but also other customers. WE have not had this complaint before, but I would check the washing instructions. Some fabrics require a cold wash before using in order to set the fabric's dye. This is most likely the case with this wrap. We recommend washing this wrap before use, just as you would a onesie or fabric bib. Thank you again for your input. We greatly appreciate it.

Life Saver!

I am a first time Grammie, with some health problems that compromise my back and carrying ability.
This wonderful baby wrap has solved the problem completely! It distributes the weight perfect, and has totally eliminated the back issue.
I just ordered a second one. My sweet little gran-bundle will be staying with Grammie when Mommie goes back to work, and there will be NO holding/carrying problems! Yippee!!! And thank you Parents of Invention

Nursing

As someone pointed out in an earlier comment that nursing was not practical in this carrier without pulling your shirt completely up....not true if you have the right nursing cloths, I purchased some really great tank tops with clip down tops that allowed me to nurse in this without ever blinking an eye, this is a great product and I look forward to using it as my daughter grows and gets bigger!!!!

LOVE this wrap!

My son needs to be carried, and wants to always be close to me. I started putting him in the Ultimate Baby Wrap when he could hold his head up (about 2 months), and I wear him all day, every day! Cleaning the house, shopping, laundry, dishes...anything! And what Dr Sears says is true: Babies that are worn sleep SO much better!! Strongly recommend this wrap to ANY mother with a fussy/colicky baby!

Absolutely terrific... need a little practice

I own a classic sling and a baby bjorn front carrier. I have a lower back pain issue and was thrilled with the back support the UBW gave. I am also impressed with how stylish the wrap is. I would rate the UBW as a 4 1/2 if I could. The only problem I had was that the wrap would bunch a bit between my babies' legs, which I believe a little practice in front of a mirror will help. As for learning how to wear the wrap, I learned after 1 try! I did have to think about it as I put it on, but got the hang of it very quickly. I definitely recommend it as my favorite carrier.

Great Product

I was kind of leery about this product after reading some of the reviews. But I tried it anyway, and I love it. I love it because my baby spent the first 3 months of her life in the NICU so I want to make up for lost bonding time by keeping her close to me as much as possible. This wrap allows me to do that and still get stuff done. I started putting her in this at her due date and she has done great. She falls right to sleep against me. I have not tried nursing her in it yet, so I don't have a comment about that. But as far as getting it tight enough, it just takes some practice.

My baby is comfortably held inside the wrap. However, since the wrap is so long, it is not easy to wrap around my body.

Good for shoulders but difficult to nurse in

I bought the UBW after a friend raved that it was a life saver. Pros: it disributes the weight evenly, your baby can be wrapped up tighter than with a sling. Cons: Two main cons: 1. In warmer weather you will sweat if outside. Plus it pulls at your indershirt. 2. The main reason I hung this on the shelf and bought a sling for my 5 week old son is that I cannot easily nurse in the nursing position described by the UBW video. I can get my son in one side's position to nurse, but I cannot figure out how to switch sides during nursing without taking my son out, putting him down somewhere, completely unwrapping the wrap and re-wraapping with the straps facing out on the other side. This is just not practical. With a newborn nursing every 2-3 hrs, this inconvenience keeps me from using the UBW. Plus, another reviewer pointed out, how do you nurse without totally pulling up your shirt underneath? I tried and gsvr up. Right now I use a regular sling for its ease of putting it on and off. I may use this once he's nursing less often, or I may purchase the Ergo Baby instead.
