MacPac Koala baby backpack

The Koala is the smallest and most streamlined MacPac baby carrier - great for short day hikes, shopping trips, and other light use. This carrier's harness system is much more simple than the other child carriers in the Macpac line - but it's still a well-made and comfortable rig. The "Airsupply" harness is made to comfortably carry a light load (up to 22 lbs), with its curved and padded shoulder straps, padded hipbelt, and the ventilation provided by the AirMesh fabric, which wicks perspiration away from your skin.

The child seat and safety harness are adjustable for your growing child, and there are D-rings for lashing on extra gear. This might come in handy, since there is limited storage space on the Koala - only one mid-sized pocket. There is a removable and washable pad for your child to rest his or face comfortably on.

Note that due to the simplified harness, the Koala can comfortably carry about half as much weight as the other Macpac child carriers - 22 pounds, as opposed to around 40 lbs.
