The full sized Deuter Sun Roof / Rain Cover provides shade on sunny days and protection from the elements on those days that aren't so. Either way, your kid will be dry and sunburn free while you travel with them snugly in the cockpit of a Deuter Kid Comfort I, Kid Comfort II, or Kid Aircomfort baby backpack.
The Deuter Sun Roof / Rain Cover attaches with simple snaps, has two posts for support, and comes with a plastic cover that keeps back the rain.

Necessary Accessory

Having a sun shade/rain cover is a true necessity when using a child carrier in the mountains, but it would have been nice if it were included with the purchase of a Deuter pack. I am glad that we purchased it for the Deuter Kid Comfort II --it is a great product. I love how the rain flaps fold into the sun shade. It is easy to clip on and off of the pack when you need to use it. I do wish the shade were a bit taller, since my son is tall for his age and he will be too tall soon to use the sun roof/rain cover when riding in the pack. I would recommend purchasing this accessory for any Deuter Pack.

It's too bad this is an extra purchase for the Deuter II [or was for me], but it works really well. It keeps the sun off, and I am always surprised at how dry it keeps my daughter.
